When is a front mudguard, not a front mudguard?

Mudhugger are well know for our large rear mudguards, however they aren’t for everyone.
Until we can crack the invisible mudguard there are only 2 options, with or without a rear Mudhugger… Or is there another option?
You may have seen bikes fitted with a small rear mudguard whilst out on the trails.

We’re very proud to say that this was pioneered by none other than Sam Hill back in 2017 when we sponsored the CRC EWS team.
Sam’s mechanic, Jacey, was always looking for ways to make Sam’s ride faster but more reliable and he quickly worked out that protecting the rear suspension bearings would far out weight the 70g weight penalty of fitting a Shorty Mudhugger to the rear seat stays.
Fast forward to 2022 and we incorporated the BB extender into the MK2 Rear Mudhugger for this very same reason, even more important with the advent of e-bikes and their all too often exposed BB area.

However, as stated earlier, our large rear mudguards aren’t for everyone.
With that in mind we reworked the FRX tooling to make it better suited to fitting on the rear seat stays for use as a mini rear Mudhugger, intended for those of you who want to protect and reduce serving costs to rear suspension bearings, but aren’t worried about getting a muddy backside.
