With / without rear Mudhugger comparison

With / without rear Mudhugger comparison

Do you ride all through the winter?

Maybe you have only bought a front Mudhugger (many thanks) from us in the past but are still to be convinced about our rear mudguards?

Have you seen our ‘with/without ‘comparison video on our YouTube channel?

When we designed the original rear Mudhugger back in 2012 it was because there was nothing on the market that worked well with the invention of the dropper seat post and the ever growing rear suspension travel of full suspension MTB’s.

Previous to this we used mudguards that attached to the seat post like everyone else. However, they caught on the rear tyre, on our shorts, stopped you getting off the back of the bike, snapped off, swung sideways etc. So, we stopped using them and moaned about the mud, the damage to our dropper posts, the state of the washing machine, whilst shivering outside our regular post ride pub because we couldn't go and sit inside without incurring the wrath of Dave the landlord.

We get a fair few negative comments about the looks of the rear Hugger, however unless you just like to look at your bike rather than ride it, once you are on the bike you can’t see it, and it won’t get in the way on the downhills,  unlike the old seat fitting post mudguards.

With the release of the MK2 Rear Huggers in 2022 we incorporated our Quick Fit Velcro fitting system. This allows you to fit or remove it in a matter of seconds, so you only need to fit it when the trail conditions require. So, at last, you can have your cake and eat it.
